  US4(U2 TRIBUTE)-MR KYPS-12-AUG-2005

The 1st thing you notice about "US4" is in fact they are actually 5.They are made up of Scott Johnson(as Adam Clayton) , Mark Cooper (as The Edge),Andy Wilson(as Larry Mullen Jnr) , Andy Fitzgerald(as Bono) and Jake Newiss(Terry Lawless). The are 4 U2 tribute bands currently treading the boards in the UK at the moment "ZU2" , "U2UK" , "Actung Baby" and "Us4" all of them give a very good account of themselves. However "US4" seemed to have managed to recreate some of the emotion and passion the real U2 bring to the stage.

I recently have managed to attend many shows of the real U2's recent European "Vertigo" tour , it seems the guys from " US4" have also been along too doing there home work.Their performance was outstanding , it was a hot sticky Friday night and the Mr Kyps audience were treated to a performance that Bono and the boys could be proud of.

They kicked off with "Vertigo" " Unos, dos, tres, catorce" and the guitar kicked in and the crowd were down the front jumping around giving the band all the encouragement they needed , next we heard a great selection of hits all played very closely to U2's own versions. The highlight of the night were the recent single "Sometimes you can't make it on your own" which was amazingly close to the original ,the high notes were perfect, even the real Bono struggles with this one however Andy was pitch perfect and it was delivered with passion and emotion.

"With or Without you " , "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and another version of "Vertigo" were played as encores as they Mr Kyp's crowd demanded more. The band left the stage and the crowd left the venue with music ringing in their ears and "Us4" in their hearts.

Scott, Jake, Mark, Andy and Andy. Awesome! Thanks for ensuring that 'U2' played at our wedding! A night we will never forget! Hopefully we can see you again, at one of your gigs.
